993turbo 0
hmmm, I have a set of BBS RS of a Porsche laying around. 8 inch front and 9 inch rear. What offset (et) is ideal to fit these wheels on a VR6? Also, what tires size am I looking at. Any input is appreciated!
VeedubVR 0
Depends on the look you want to go for. Whether you want tuck, flush or poke. Whats the ET of the wheels now before adaptors?Id get both front and rear arches rolled.
993turbo 0
I want the wheels as far in as possible. (tuck) if that is possible on the MkIII with 8 and 9's. Ive been tipped that Et25 up front and 15 rear would be good? Any comments on this? My wheels are high ET, so no issues, just need to decide the size of the adapters
VeedubVR 0
Those would be too low for tuck.Run those offsets if you want flush up front and poke out back. Running tuck you want the adpators to be small so to keep the ET numbers high. But to tuck 9s.... not to sure with standard arches. Could get them flush though
Special K 81 0
Seems a waste to tuck 9's under the rears, will look good flush, its all going to depend on tyre size choice as well!?!
VeedubVR 0
You say you have them just lying around. possibly for sale?
993turbo 0
Wheels are not for sale.... Ive had them for some time...

Ive been recommended 195/40 and 215/35....... Poke it OUT OF THE QUESTION as it looks silly. (in my opinion) I could live with flush, I suppose.I suppose its a bit limited with the 9'' width, as the wheels houses are not the biggest in the universe.
VeedubVR 0
Et 15 on a 9J wheel will poke. Not massive but the rim will stick out. 195/40 on a 8 looks good Id go for 205/40 on a 9.
993turbo 0
hmmm, Ok. I dont want poke. 205/40 on a 9'' inch rim will STRECH loads..
993turbo 0
What is the highest offset possible at the back with 9'' wheels? 20mm? 25mm?? Does anyone know?
ben_notts 0
im pretty sure your not gonna tuck 9's!you could always buy some smaller dishes from somewhere like justmatz and run 8's all round with no probs?
993turbo 0
sure, that would be no problem. Its just that I have these wheels laying around, and I was thingking to use them, without tooooooo much of an expense :-) justmatz??? have you got a link..?
Special K 81 0
195/40 would be hell of a stretch with quite a nticable gap between tyre and rim lip.....not a look i love, do like stetched tyres but not to that extreme.
993turbo 0
Too much stretch is out of the quiestion.
VeedubVR 0
Tyre stretch varys from different manufactures. You can have the same profile but the stretch on a falken will look different to a stretch of something like a Hankook. Then if your being picky, different model of th e same brand stretch different. The falken 512 stretches better the 912, which stretches better than the 452. Im a fan of stretch. Not keen on chunky looking tyres.195/40 on a 9 (conti tyre)205/40 on a 9 (falken tyre)215/35 on a 9 (dunlop tyre)
993turbo 0
Too much stretch for me. Just don like the look. So I suppose the 9'' rears are out of the question..
