leespeza 0
hi all, think my throttle body senser has packed up ok when i start from cold it revs upto 2000rpm after 5 secs it goes down to 1300rmp then when temp is around 90 its still running high around 1000rpm as before it was 750-800rpm can anyone confirm it the senser
legvw 0
Why don't you adjust the idle screw on the side of the tb, i had to do that when i swapped tb's. Adjust it when its upto temp, and set it to what it was before.
993turbo 0
idle screw? Can the idle be adjusted? Isnt this the job of the ISV... ?
muttley 0
are you sure its the real idle reading, i'd have a look at your proper reading on the maf computer 1st before you adjust anything
leespeza 0
yeh but the idle screw hasnt been messed with is was ok before i changed the engine from odb2 to
legvw 0
Well if you went from 2 to 1 then you'll need to adjust the screw. OBD2 doesn't have an adjustment screw, and the isv is built into the OBD2 t/b. The isv controls the idle (to keep it smooth and regular) via by-passing the t/bt, but the t/b needs to be set too as when the engine is up to temp, the isv is no longer used-mostly used when the engine is cold (when it requires more air/fuel til warm). legvw 0
Bottom right of the throttle body. When i swapped odb1 manifolds+ t/b i had to adjust the idle like this, try it an see what happens.
