Ben Seabrook 4
do you mean piece no 9 in this diagram ? and yeah it could be your problem

amandamin 0
and no
Ben Seabrook 4
yup it's no 9 - all comes as one piece crankcase breather vale - vw sharan equivalent - part no:7M0 128 101 - £22.63 + vat at last check
amandamin 0
and you think this may be the problem ???
Ben Seabrook 4
well it might be although on mine it is just a pipe off to a breather but if its broken and air is getting into the system it wont be helping - you could try blocking off the entrance into the big pipe at the top and see if that helps - the breather off the rocker cover is just for excess oil
amandamin 0
that made no differance what so ever please give me a step by step guide on what to do i am starting to panick now i have my tickets but no car to go in and time is running out eeeaaakkk
Ben Seabrook 4
well I would block off the whole into the main air pipe ( no 9 in the above pic ) where part no13 goes into it. Have you cleaned the ISV / throttle body ?
amandamin 0
no not yet but i have looked inside it and it isnt that bad,i will go take it off now
amandamin 0
ok have now cleaned the trottle body and uit has made no differance whatsoever, could you send me a pic of the isv so iknow i have the right piece off i think i have but if its the part i think how do you clean it its a sealed unit, heeelllpp
Ben Seabrook 4
isv looks like this
Ben Seabrook 4
to clean it you need to use a screwdriver to very carefully open and move the butterfly valve at the bottom of it - the other thing to clean is the MAF is you havent dont that recently
amandamin 0
right i have the wrong bit, where is this isv situated and whats a maf??? dont speak jargon to me i have no idea i am capable of doing it if i know what im looking for . LOL women!
Ben Seabrook 4
ha ha ok the MAF is the air flow meter and in the diagram I posted on the previous page its no8 and is located after the air filter unplug it undoe the clips either side and spray the inside without touching it with electrical contact cleaner or isopropyl aclochol - the isv is located just to the right of the throttle body and will have an even larger rectangular plastic box at the end of it. Excuse the crudeness of the diagram but here you go !!
amandamin 0
i already had a look at the maf and am now setting about cleaning isv i will keep you posted and thanks for all your advice so far i will buy you a beer at bugjam if i get there lol
