Mk5 Golf Fin Aerial

Does anybody know if this mk5 golf aerial would fit the mk3 vr6 directly?

Im thinking there maybe a little modifcation needed... Has anybody tried it?

Any help will be appriciated

depends on the fitting underneath, mk3 has a 15mm square hole.

i used this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12V-AERO-SHARK-FIN-CAR-ANTENNA-AERIAL-BLACK-811413-/200434703488?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM had to put a different end on the cable but was easy as pie and i think looks bit better as its a smoother fin

I have found a picture of the bottom, But im more worried about the connections from the original mk3 wiring to this style

the connector looks the same as the OE one on mk3, easiest way to see on your car is take the plastic trim off the back of the headlining at the top of the boot and drop the headlining and have a look, i think theres 2 different kinds depending on the model radio your car originally had.

It physically fits but doesnt plug in. Mine came off a breaker so pinched the other part of the connector too !!!!

I am probably going to take my existing aerial out and strip the insides out and put it inside the new mk5 housing,

This will hopefully enable me to have the same connectors and the look of the mk5 fin

I will keep posted my progress
