Gazbarber1982 3
Might go off the original subject a bit but.....What are the reccommended plugs and / or leads for a supercharged VR? I'm currently running Euro car parts (OEM spec) leads and mk3 GTi 16v plugs. Leads are 12 month's old and plugs are 6 month's old. Car is running shit at the min and I've changed the filter, maf, coolant temp sensors but still no luck. Running out of things to try. Waiting on Ben's Lambda to arrive, gonna try another FPR and get my spare standard injectors sent for ultrasonic cleaning (Vince wants another £450 to remap my car for redtops, not worth it i don't think???) then a fuel pressure test and a new walbro. Other than that, I don't know what to try. If anyone wants to shed some light on my car running rough, I can provide full details of car and vag-com output's from log files. I've logged different settings in vag-com from 20mph to 130mph~ in 4th gear.

spindat45 0
I've had NGK Laser Platinum plugs in mine ever since I charged it. PFR6Q 6458. They are S4 plugs and are colder than standard so better suited to FI. I've had no problems with them whatsoever. I have a basic stage 1 set up so standard injectors and a 4 bar FPR. As above, Dubpower leads are a good look. If you had it mapped with standard injectors after it was charged, changing them to red tops and not getting it remapped will cause allsorts of problems as the car won't be fuelling correctly. What charger are you running and at what psi?Kevin
rodney 17
I am running std leads and 16 plugs like most i suspect.. When you say running crap what do you mean??? If you go red tops tyou must remap as you are adding some 40% more fuel capacity (weather you use it or not) and the system must bee remapped or you will be over fuelling all day and will be replacing parts and CAT before you know it.If you upgrade to red top you will also need the 4-BAR FPR.. spindat45 0
I am running std leads and 16 plugs like most i suspect.. When you say running crap what do you mean??? 16 plugs? lol That's just plain greedy mate.I'm also using standard leads with no probs. I think the 4 bar FPR is a necessity once you go FI with or without red tops.

Gazbarber1982 3
After all my messing about, it turns out the lambda was the fault. The car was hesitating on acceleration, irratic idle, really, really bad fuel consumption and cutting out sometimes. Ben's lambda wasn't working quite right but it cured my drivability problems. My car is running standard injectors, 4 bar fpr, walbro pump, Stealth remap for my z-eng. ZR-2 charger @ 6psi. Vince suspected the MAF so it had a new one from TPS. Didn't work so tried new temp sensors which resulted in needing crack pipe then oil cooler hoses!! New leads from euro, new oem plugs, new oem fpr.
