dubberjim 0
After some help yet again. Just put my engine back in after finaly fixing the oild leak (don't buy after market main crank oil seals).Tidyed up the engine loom even have the rev counter working now, which is nice . However the probelm is the car randomly just stops from time to time, makes no odds if its cold or warm, dosnt seem to get lumpy, just cuts out. it starts again no problem. also happens when im driving it will just judder as if the car has lost all power and bump starts it self. makes no difference if its bummpy road, under load or just cruising happpens is any gear. its a mk2 2.8 from with coil pack. has new leads, plugs and coil. checked the loom before i wrappped it and all seemed fine no bear wires and no oobvious signs of arching anywhere. the car does seem to be running a little ritch but nothing major. any ideas guy as id like to have atleast one weekend out of the car this summer dubberjim

bungy 2
Does it sound like it is starved of fuel ie, fuel breather blocked and cutting out? Does it cut out if you let it run on your driveway or does it take quite a while?
dubberjim 0
it probably takes a good five mins but can be totaly random. how would i tell if its starved of fuel? and where is the fuel breather to check? cheers
bungy 2
If it will cut out after about 5 mins on your driveway, just run it with the fuel filler cap off and see if it cuts out. If it continues to run then you can source your breather and rectify.

dubberjim 0
strange car wouldnt start. the relay that came with the mk3 loom started going mental clicking like mad took it out and swapped it with another one with 53 on it same thing. after a few mins started and is running fine. fuel filler is off now. gavinvr6 0
did you not use the entire loom when doing the conversion. im in the process of breaking up my mk3 to build a mk2 and will be transfering the entire engine and ignition loom including the 2x2 diagnostics plugs (mines obd1 coi pack).
