p0u1 14
so your getting 1350 for a 1992 golf and your complaining?
VR6Nat 9
I'd say that's fairly good tbf. You should always go with an agreed valve insurance to mak sure you get an amount you're happy with or a modified policy to cover the costs of any mods. If you don't do this you leave yourself open to the judgement of the insurance company. Only thing you can do is to find one for sale that's exact Same spec and send them the ad and ask for then to match that amount but it rarely works.
Ben Seabrook 4
unfortunatley that sounds about right as far as the insurance companies are concerned also you never get back what you put in money/time wise - as above if you dont have an agreed vaulation it will be very tricky to get them to raise it, trawl the classifieds and see if you can find several examples similar to yours going for more money otherwise if its worth it due to the condition see if you can buy the car back and then break it yourself to re-coup some extra money
craggsy 91
Gotta agree with others £1350 is a good payout for an 18 yr old car!!!No offence but I've seen cars that are supposed to be mint and are far from it
p0u1 14
if you intend on keeping your NCB or plan on getting your first year this year you should get your car back off the insurers and strip the car for its running gear then find a golf with a blow gearbox or any car you want to put a vr6 in thats selling for cheep due to been broken and make a new one working vr6 car :-p, i picked up a golf gti in blue with mint bodywork and perfect seats for 100quid yesterday im sure you can do the same.
