Hi all am newbie to this and like the site I Own a 1997 vr6 and have just bought it with blown head gasket so stripped the engine head off found gasket gone and also noticed heat exchanger had gone and cam chain upper guide blade cracked so replaced that as well noted the problem with the car had been going on for a while so to cut a long story short when rebuilt started her up no probs apart from slightly high tick over and difficulty in bleeding water system of air so switched it off , now to the fault tried to restart it but no joy checked spark checked comp all ok so scratched my head for hours and found plugs wet and eventually deasparation set in so i disconnected fuel supply to fuel rail and clamped it and it started connected fuel supply back and it kept running but keeps blowing water out of rad after 10 mins or so could it be impellers on water pump gone also when i switch it off each time it will not fire untill i disconnect fuel supply so do they suffer fuel pressure reg faults or could it be something else please all you guys i need some help on this p.s it is a 2.8l

Hi there yes head was skimmed and pressure checked for cracks only 6 thou needed to make head square and it does not blow water for about ten minutes and then suddenly boils do they have plastic impeler water pump which could brake i know these are a pig to bleed out but main fault is why it wont start till fuel feed pipe is disconnected can anyone help ?
