Hi guys,

help please if u will....

I have a 95 vr6.

I have recently topped up the power steering bottle 2wice in the past month, both times with 750ml of fluid or to the fill level.

I cannot find a leak, nor any wet/seep marks. Does anyone know where the fluild is going? and how do i rectify this problem?

thanks,

tony

vw does state that you should only use g000200 and not normal power steering fluid or atf fluid.

Im going to be replacing my pas fluid and will be using pentosin CHF11S, it is G000200 as they make it for VW but branded themselves its cheaper than VW for the exact same fluid, they are the only company that will sell you the exact spec fluid you need outside of vw

and the difference is? still not solved the problem though..

And the difference is you wont kill your rack from the wrong fluid! Was it a bit low and you topped it up with normal ps fluid.....it may have killed a seal and given you leak maybe only when you use it

etka online is there to be used

http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Catalogues/ETKA_VW_MKIII_Steering_PartNumbers.pdf

AAA code seals - 1H0 498 020 A= £93.26

Gaiter - 357 422 831 B = £15.20ea

Larger Diameter clamp - 357 422 837 B = £3.24ea

Smaller diameter clamp - 357 422 839 A = £1.88ea

all prices listed are genuine vag and are plus vat.

it works out cheaper to buy a recon one or secondhand.
