CALICO 130
both are different fitment obd1 port on the car is different from an obd2 port so no they are not interchangable
Rikki 2
You need a specific obd1 or 2 depending what year your car is.....some obd1's have the obd2 plug socket. Remove your ashtray and slide the panel to the left above to the cigarette lighter thats where the socket is on a later car. If its the early one its behind the dash blanks next to the heated rear screen

Rustyman 0
DANH you know bought a fault reader and it works on our cars remember ??? tried it on my driveway months ago ???? I should add if anyone reads this my cars a 1995 OBD1 but the OBDII port works on my car ... do i have a late cross over model ???
Rikki 2
Dan you need the obd2 style adapter lead and Rustyman....not really a crossover model iirc its only the very early ones that had the 2x2 connector....most 95 cars are next to the ashtray in my experience! DanH 1
yea but it flashed up no faults.......somethings gotta be wrong with my heap haha!!!
Rikki 2
Vagcom will give you more of an idea than a universal reader!
