Jonttum 0
Hi I'm new to the forum. I have running issues and loss of power in my mk3 vr6 -92. so the problem is that the car jerks while driving and idling. It doesn't rev more than 5000 rpm, It takes always 3s to start even when the car is warm. I have changed the spark plugs and wires, knock sensor( it was broken). I tryed it with the MAF unplugged, but it runs even worse. And when i rev It to 5k rpm and take my foot from the gas It jerk very strong for a while. I tryed the topspeed and it was only 160km/h / 100mph
Sidhu88 1
ok - my misfire problem has started again' date=' albeit not as bad as it was before. I disconnected the MAF once again and there was a difference in the smooothness and pickup. So im guessing I need a new MAF? My question is what happens if I disconnect the MAF and continue to drive it. Will it harm the engine?[/quote']try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner instead of WD40,
Rikki 2
if you have put wd on a obd2 maf then its probably killed it....you can only use isopropyl alcohol availiable from maplins as it leaves NO residue unlike wd or contact cleaner. The maf heats to 1000C to burn off deposits so is very delicate. To the orignal poster if lead 6 when unplugged didnt change the sound then its probably failed....how did you check it to say its fine. Tried another lead????
