magic_tree 0
I have heard Stealth is good, they are not far from Cov. I am planning on taking mine there for a remap, I live in North Wales.
jimmyb 2
well i asked about it at midland vw before and got told that remap/chips are not that good on vr`s and was pointed in the direction off exhaust, filter, cams first.
magic_tree 0
yes, your right, but a remap does help. My old VR was standard apart from a filter but had a remap from AmD and it was noticbly quicker than standard ones I drove. I am going doen the cams, inlet mani and throttle body route before I get a remap on my current VR,
garrett281083 0
so i got my decat done today and sounds and performs much better. if i get my throttle body port and polished that should help the airflow im guessing. i think id rather get it turbo than get the cams done.but im unsure of how they respond to being turbod. magic_tree 0
From reading around on here, Turbo will give you the biggest power gain, followed by charger. You talking proper money though. I think if you plan to turbo yours, it is wise to strengthen the engine as much as poss first, extra cost. I guess the same goes for charging it, but the power gains are less, so might not be as necessary. One thing I noticed watching the various VR's on the strip at GTI International was that the turbo'd ones seemed to have way more power than traction, Masses of wheel spin at lift off. Personally I am planning a charger to arounbd 289bhp ish. I think that might be quite drivable.
