MarkGolf 6
Hello,A mate of mine has just bought a £700 VR6! It's been around the world and smokes when he boots it so probably rings or valve stems but he has no interest to change these. He'd ideally like to keep it running as long as poss as he uses it as his work horse so he asked me what oil to use in it. What's best for a high miler smoke machine? A thicker weight but what and the smoke is blue... 10w50 I'd have thought but it might be a bit pricier than he'd wantcheers
Lukey. 381
whats it got in now? 10w40 is the recommended oil and you can get it from TPS for about 9 quid for 5 litres

gavinvr6 0
10w 40 and a bottle of stop smoke to try re-seal the damaged rings or valve seal's.but if it's smoking that bad, especially blue. he'd be better of spending a couple of quid getting the seals or rings changed instead of a gallon of oil a month.
