hobbsy 0
Scuse me if im a bit thick but went to vw today to order some new top mounts to go on when I fit my coilovers, I assumed it was just the metal caps but he seemed to think i would need the rubbers that go underneath as well, what do you reckon, gotta ring them on monday. Deano74 0
wouldn`t be a bad idea if you renewed them, they need changing at 80k intervals & might not have been done
stu h 0
i'd replace the whole lot mate. how much were they looking for for the whole top mount?i'm having new eibach/konis fitted in a few weeks, and was gonna change the top mounts and bumpstops at the same time
BenW16 0
same as replace em that is...give gsf a ring mate there much cheaper than vw :-)

hobbsy 0
It was only about 7 quid for a top mount, will prob go genuine vw at that price.
binliner 0
GSF arent as good quality as VW mounts
stu h 0
my mechanic told me that the Febi ones would be fine from gsf or ecp (cant remember which) but if the vw ones are reasonable i'll get 'em.
MrBen 0
I used the ecp ones on my GTI and they lasted next to no time. The VW ones are worth paying the extra!

hobbsy 0
Wot about the rears, do i need to replace the bumpstops too? Gonna ring the place im getting the coilovers to see what comes with the kit, I know I had to chop up the bumpstops when I was running an 80 mm drop on my mk1, wondering if maybe I need aftermarket bumpstops for the vr.
