Caddyslammed 16
In my VR, the knob, (right hand one) that controls the flap for directing the airflow from the heater to feet-face-windscreen etc, just rotates freely, it stops at each extreme but does not move the flap, the air just comes out of the vents into my face, is this an easy fix do you know?, i wouldnt mind so much if it was stuck on the windscreen for demisting but it isnt..Help please

Lukey. 381
you need take the heater control panel out to have a look and see if the cables are all fastened in or its all snapped up at the back
CALICO 130
i think the adjuster for the other end of the cable is on the side of the heater box by your left ankle you could adjust it manually for now
Ben Seabrook 4
In my VR' date=' the knob, (right hand one) that controls the flap for directing the airflow from the heater to feet-face-windscreen etc, just rotates freely, it stops at each extreme but does not move the flap, the air just comes out of the vents into my face, is this an easy fix do you know?, i wouldnt mind so much if it was stuck on the windscreen for demisting but it isnt..Help please [/quote']yes mate I think it just clips on to the back of the fins you can remove it by undoing the screws behind the vents and then a little bit of the surrounding dash but otherwise just manually move the vents away with your fingers

VR6Pete 1,455
could be a broken tab / sheered cog.. it happened on my corrado, but the reason the tab / cog broke was because the de-mister cable was mashed, which meant it was putting stress on the heater controls...£9 from the dealer for the corrado for the cable. worth taking out your control pannel and see if the bowden cables move freely!
