andynick69 0 Posted October 16, 2010 Report Share Posted October 16, 2010 H,more advice needed please,drove to manchester from brum today,came off changed to 3rd and pop? clutch pedal made a strange noise and pushed back to bulkhead luckily my mates just opened his own garage( vw tech) and is going to look at it monday,thinks its master cylinder?? any more ideas??? and if it is how expensive is it?? ta andy Link to post Share on other sites

Lukey. 381 Posted October 17, 2010 Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 first can you pull it back up and it feels disconnected and just on a strong spring?if so have a look up under the dash at the top of the clutch pedal and there is a little metal box that houses a clip that connects to the cylinder arm, check the top of the box hasnt snapped its welds and popped off, this is a very common problem as the standard welds on the box are only spot welds so check this first Link to post Share on other sites

andynick69 0 Posted October 17, 2010 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 Hi m8,sounds similar as i found a plastic part on the floor after it happened,leaving it to a mate whose a vw tech,pedal wouldnt return so dont whether its that or not,thanks for advice,let you know how i get on ta andy.
