Bampson 0 Posted January 25, 2005 Report Share Posted January 25, 2005 i have a rubbing type noise coming from the g/box side of the car .. i thought it was g/box oil and i changed that but still have the noise .. sounds like metal rubbing even with the clutch pressed in and free wheeling.. it only happens when rolling ..the noise is hard to discribe but also hard to miss .. i dont want to drive it in case i damage somthing else .. any one have nay ideas ??? Corr28VR6 0 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Share Posted January 26, 2005 Wheel bearings tend to give a knocking noise and you can normally feel some feedback of the knock through the steering wheel so it doesn't sound like that is your problem. Check your brake disc shields - after a while the tend to corrode (or they certainly did on mine) split, and can end up rubbing on the back of the disc Link to post Share on other sites
