CALICO 130
possibly best to get one for right hand drive as may foul brake parts
breeza18 0
is it only the manifold that would nee to be different? could still work out cheaper than a uk kit
CALICO 130
dont know buddy but theres no head sapcer or gasket there either plus headbolts and intercooler pipe work if you want / need all that as well
breeza18 0
yeah i know about the headspacer and bits but once this was running and was happy i could always up the psi and add the intercooler and head spacer then, or maybe i should just do it all in one hit? any advice on where to get a good priced garret gt3076r? sharky_70 0
mani should work ok as it sits the turbo furtehr downbut like calico said you'd need to lower the comp and get it intercooled. plus the software they send wont be suitable for a UK car, plus youre gonna get stung with a big import duty and VAT billpeople on here have proven that you cna get a VRT up and running and producing respectable figures for about £1k, you just gotta score some bargains, learn how to fit stuff yourself, and get friendly with a decent welder
breeza18 0
cheers sharky, im quite handy witht the spanners but really new to the turbo game, and so not sure wheres best to buy bits from. just been looking at gt30's and 900 seems to be the ruff price, that seem right? sharky_70 0
i'd spend half that and get a nice big Holset HX40http://www.g-s-racing.com/products.htmlthings that shouldnt be skimped on are turbo and manifold. obviously you shouldnt skimp anywhere, but savings can be made elsewhere to keep the costs down
breeza18 0
that looks more like it! are they any good? ive heard the name holset but thought they were more towards truck engine and alike? would deffo ease the budget tho at that price! as for manifolds are the ebay jobs a no no? UnitedMotorsport 55
Kinetics manifold doesnt fit on a RHD car. With the manifold not fitting, that renders the down pipe and any other pipe work associated with turbo position useless.

sharky_70 0
yep, you pay for a big expensive brand name! not saying theyre not good, theyve got a long proven track record. but so have holset, and people in other car scenes have been using them to great effect for years. the swede's love em, and we know they produce some crazy powered cars! also theyre roots are in commercial vehicles, so theyre hugely reliable, but they dont spend a fortune marketing themselves to the performance market, which is why they can be priced more competatively
