Gen leads all the way.

mister solutions was the cheapest i could find ngk plugs http://www.mister-solutions.co.uk/ngk-spark-plugs--plug-caps-1-c.asp

BKR5EU is the vw recommendation for the VR6 01/92 –> 06/95

BKR5EUP is the vw recommendation for the VR6 07/95 –>

They are platinum core which makes them quite expensive but should last twice as long.

if you want to use cheaper plugs and just replace them in 20k instead of 40k (as per vw specs, which i think is over long anyway) you can use the plain BKR*E series. They come in various heat ranges, 5 being the standard for this engine, but people are using 6 or 7 (colder than 5) without issue. Down to personal choice at the end of the day, after weighin up everything i went for BKR5E and ill just replace them in 20k for a third of the price of the platinums.

your prob gonna want to ring up GSF and get;

GSF Part No - 987AA0500 - metal ht lead removal tool

GSF Part No - 987VG0030 - spark plug socket

and a long 3/8 drive extension

if you dont have them already, they are vital to making the job easier, near impossible without.

Another tip, when you do come to take the plugs out/put new ones in, i electrical taped the socket to the extension as if the socket gets stuck on the top of a plug itll be very tricky to get out. Trust me i did it!
