Richvr6 0
Hello, hope you can help, my drivers side front window, when open and I press the button to close the window, think it's called courtesy function or something like that, approx 70% up, the window stops and then returns to the bottom. This is an intermittent fault but occurs more often than not. Any help or suggestions appreciated
antera309 3
Something is obstructing the upward motion of the window. When the window is obstructed, it winds back down again as a safety feature to prevent limbs etc. getting caught in there. The obstruction could be internal to the cable mechanism or window runners. Best bet is to get the door trim off and take a look. Try winding the window up in small increments to see where it gets obstructed.
jonvr6highline 0
My passenger window does that sometimes but rarely, I agree with Nick on the 'safety feature'.It is annoying especially when its pissing it down! :? [ golfvr6011evensmaller.jpg ]
VR6Steve 0
Would suggest trying some spray grease in the window channel as it could be a bit dry, making the car think there is an obstruction and activating the safety roll back feature.

clint 0
its happened on mine now and again but its usually after ive had my arm on it. If you put any downward pressure on the window it will go down a couple of inches. I think this activates the saftey roll back feature the next time you close your window. Does it only seem to do it when its rained? Might be sticking a touch.
