hobbsy 0
My mate has got an old BMW m535i and reckons it will piss all over the vr6, I am unsure tho and would like to think not! The BM acceleration figures are 0-60 7.8secs, 0-90 15.8 secs and 0-120 30.8secs. My vr s engine is standard, anyone know similar specs for it? I know I would leave him for dead round the twisties but wouldnt mind some facts and figures for a bit of pub banter.
jfb1977 0
0-60 on the VR (depending where you get it from) is about 7 secs dead (I've seen it as low as 6.7 and high as 7.2).I don't know the 0-90 time....my guess is that driven well the VR would out drag him on the straights, and the VR driven badly by a blind, drunk monkey, would beat him round the twisties. acf8181 0
depends on the year of bmw....but going on the figures you've quoted you'll get to 60 quicker, by about 7 tenths.
Macca 1
A VR is quicker to 90mph than that!At the end of my 1/4 mile i was doing 91mph, and that was after only 15.4 sec, and im sure a decent driver could get more out of it.[ Edited Sat Jan 29 2005, 05:06PM ]
hobbsy 0
It is an old 535i, on a c plate i think, it makes 220ish bhp but is built like a tank, I am confident that the vr is quicker, although a close run thing on a straight road I reckon he will be toast through the bends, let you know how it goes when i go and see him in a couple of weeks! Eat this 2
he does have rwd wich measn he can get the power down earlier coming out of bends but u should deffo be quicker
acf8181 0
if you have standard susp he'll prob have you in the corners....if you have uprated susp you'll prob have him through corners, not by much though. rwd is quicker in the twisty's as a general rule. apd 0
in my experience some bmw drivers think thier car is the ultimate driving machine.would leave 94L onward M3's alone.everything else is fair game,325,328,330,730,735 all tried and failed to out accelerate my standard 94 vr.
