vr6_super 0
Hey allGot a few extra pennies and planning a few wee treats for the VR6. Have seen a couple of different looking 6 branch manifold (one attaches to downpipe and one replaces downpipe too). Fancy the latter tho I have heard of people heat wrapping them.Is there any advantages to wrapping them or disadvantages to not wrapping them?Cheers
p0u1 14
you normally use wraps for turbos as they work better with the heat and become more efficent, i dont know why you would when you dont have a turbo though.

legvw 0
As above, wrap it, 100%.It will save you boiling brake fluid/melting wiring andcut down heat in the engine bay.

Rayhoop 0
when wrapping manifolds, are supposed to leave an inch gap unwrapped between the mounting to the head and the pipes... apparently to prevent any stray oil soaking onto the wrap and presenting a fire hazard? bungy 2
When you wrap, soak it in a bucket of water and stretch it really tight when wrapping. Use stainless seizing wire to secure the ends and spiral wrap the whole length.
