vr6kelvin 5
hello allabout four months ago, i was in need of another vw after owning 2 mk3 polo gt's, but wanted something diff, and at the time my gf, now x! had a mk2 gti golf, which was gr8 fun to drive when i was allowed, so started looking for a 3dr gti, and found my jetta, bought her no tax no mot, for £100. this is how she looked:.so picked her up, got her mot'd and taxed and run her around like this for three months:and i loved how she drived, and handled, only thing that annoyed me was the shity rd around my way, and being so low, and the lack of power being as she was only a 1.6 carb. so about three weeks ago, was talk to a friend i havent spoken to in ages, and got on to the subject of cars, and it turned out his mate had a every rotten mk3 vr6 sitting on his drive not doing anything, so £150 for the car and £150 to pick it up n i got a fully working vr6 for £300.starting to strip her down the next day in the rain and was almost ready to take the engine out, so a week went passed with out me really doing anything, then my week off. started on friday afternoon, friday n saturday my mate helped me and we got all this done:so in todays we had the vr engine and rear axle in my jetta.the sunday i removed the looms and dash's from both cars, and over the last four days as im off work, mk3 loom and fuse box into the jetta, mk3 fuel tank and lines, plugged all the brakes back up, order and corrado rad of ebay, order n got the hyd to cable clutch conversion, installed the selector from the mk3, and spend more time getting confused with wires.so im nearly there, just waiting for a friend to come over with his wiring diagrams, and his knowlegde of vw's, and full milltek exhaust system, and tsr to get back to me. the only thing i need which i am with out is a corrado top water hose.so not bad for a weeks work.plans are next yr to remove engine and give it clean up and a rebuilt if it needs, a lick of paint in the bay, full respray. just getting it all in at the mo so all the work work is done!thanks for looking, comments welcome kelvin
