Danny Salling 0 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Share Posted November 26, 2010 I need a new/used starter for my G3 vr6, but i have seen that there are some different ones out there, some have nine teeths and some have ten teeths, and then som have to places you screw it on and some have three places. What do theese difference do/meen, can i use any of them? My vr6 is an old 92´ model by the way Link to post Share on other sites
p0u1 14 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Share Posted November 26, 2010 obd1 then and the starter mottor only has two bolts holding it in, and im fairly sure the obd1 and obd2 starter motors are the same as its the same engine other than the eletronics Link to post Share on other sites
p0u1 14 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Share Posted November 26, 2010 also whats is it doing as mine was been really tempremental then i opened the solinode up on the side of the starter motor, 3 long scweews hold it together then i cleaned the inside and used some switch cleaner and it got me another 2months, so if the times tight then have a go at that Link to post Share on other sites
VR6Pete 1,455 Posted November 26, 2010 Report Share Posted November 26, 2010 I spoke to Vince @ Stealth racing last week about Starter Motors, and recommened getting the Golf V5 starter motor as its more powerful, and turns the engine over quicker.... give him a call. its about the same price as the standard VR6's one...
