Better winter economy and faster warming up

Just been reading up on these winter masks. Nice and tidy and a VW part so correct fitment. The quicker your car warms up the less fuel you use and quicker the heaters work. I'm certainly glad for heated seets at the moment.

But you are still travelling down the road with freezing air circulating through the engine bay slowing down the warming up process. They are designed by VW for exactly that reason.

Neat idea. Saves using an old sand bag or something similar! (or what ever landy rover drivers use) :-)

Its a good idea, but its not going to make enough of a difference to me to bother with. With the amount of fuel my 4mo burns I need all the cooling I can get tbh.

That is the whole point. Until your car warms up you are burning extra fuel. The quicker it warms up the less fuel is wasted.

I understand the benefits of partially blocking the radiator ect but If you leave these on when driving, dosent the cover on the grill block the air intake?

Air intake is from the passenger side wing. Mine is a cold air intake from the lower left hand side.
