Avo Coilovers

Has anyone had any experience with AVO coilovers , can get a set a fairly decent price ????

AVO's were always the top choice for the RS owners. I've had a couple of cars with them on and have had no problems. Very good for track use.

I see there very track inspired but need something good for road also , only wanna spend around £500 ! but its such a big dessicsion as its a very important part of the car !

I had a good look round before buying my AP's and for the cost against performance I personally think they are a good buy. Handling is greatly improved without loss of too much comfort although the ride is harder.

Personally I will be getting KW V2s when I can afford em, would love V3s but cant justify the extra cash for em

Koni's every single time or have heard very good things about Weitec also mate

Koni coilies on the VR and been spot on for the 4+yrs that they were on, and a steel at £500 way back then

why get coilies though mate ? if your after a decent setup then just buy a standard setup can easily get Koni's then

Well I have always had coilovers on all my cars , dont know much about other setups ??? what do you think >?

not sure they are worth the extra tbh a standard setup is much better value for money and personally I have never adjusted coilies much just get them at a height and stick with it so find a standard setup that drops what you want and away you go

just worried that i put them on and it dont drop it enough then im stuck with it !

Yep if you dont plan o changing setupp then shocks/springs are a better option.

Me personally I like to change them about when on track to get best grip

Ok i guess i will havce to work out how much drop i need then go from there , but i thinking new rimage for next season , i think ill get xmas out the way and see what funds allow ! thanks guys

Not aue on avo's had fk konigsports silverlines and they where great but still corroded / seazed on adjustment (prob due to living on farm at the time!) now i just buy euro cheapies at less than £200 / set u can go through 3 sets for the same money and still seaze up in the same time!

Ride doesnt feel any different once u set up height and rebound..

Have them on the vento, have a lookie next weekend matey!

I did alter height a few times within first couple of years to go with wheels at the time. Then settled on 16s so yes height was set....want KW to adjust rebound as well for track

nah fk's are notorious for seizing up mate !!

Little tip,

If your running coilovers adjust them to desired height then cover the threads in waxoyl. Only couple of quid and prevents them from seizing, the waxoyl remains soft meaning very simple adjustment.

if you can wait till the new year, you can have the avo's off my car. swapping to weitec as the avo's are too harsh fpr the road. they are less than 12months old and you can have then pretty cheap.

just checked. they are the GTX ones. just over 12 months old. not under so they are out of warranty but not covered anyway due to not being the original purchaser.

think these are retailing for just over a grand at the moment .looking for about £350. will have them all cleaned up like new again once removed.

please note that these are VERY hard ! feels like it's got concrete shocks on !
