VOOOORA66 0 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Share Posted December 13, 2010 hello guys... 2 weeks back i over filled my car with oil by mistake. day after while driving normally i noticed my oil temp was a bit high, round about 96. later on that day i drove the car hard! high revs on 3rd gear the was a huge cloud of smoke. white smoke and its been smoking ever since did i really mess something up? the seals maybe? It can be,I overfilled my car by accident(mk2 jetta)a few years back and the overspill came out a breather which split went over the exhaust and ended up with a nice little engine bay fire which I luckily managed to put out after the initial panic. As said the extra hydrocarbons going through the exhaust will be annihalating your cat but yeah it isnt the best in general. How far over the top mark did you fill it? Just a woman I know thought you filled the oil up until you could see it at the cap Link to post Share on other sites

And yep white smoke heaven....Drained it off now but its still smoking like an essex girl on a friday nite..
