jfb1977 0
My thoughts are - either someone has broken into his Ebay account - which I've heard of on numerous occasions...which is the most likely thing....OR....he's getting divorced and wants to fuck his wife over - there was an infamous case in the 80's where a guy in Sussex was getting divorced and sold his wife's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow for £50 in The Times....and it took him 3 weeks to sell cos everyone thought the ad was a mis-print.Hmmmm....... antera309 3
It would be worth £2,900 even without an engine. I've just emailed the guy. Let's see what happens.

tinny22 11
just got this email I know that you have many choices on ebay and I appreciate that you've contacted me. My location is Salerno, Italy and the car is here too. I've made the auction for UK because the car is UK model with UK specs (right-hand drive). So I'm trying to sell it as low as I can to complete the sale fast. The car comes with log book, keys and all the documents to register it in the UK, and also a bill of sale in your name. It meets DOT and EPA guidelines so there will be no problems regarding UK Customs policy on receiving the car. I didn't pay for import taxes when the car was brought in Italy and if I keep the car like that, I'm going to lose it. This is a true bargain. The car has clear title (in my hands), HPI cleared, no outstanding finanace, perfect cosmetic and engine conditions, and meticulously maintained. You will have to pay just the taxes to register the car in the UK. If the car is not how I described it, I offer a full refund, upon the return of the car in original condition (return shipping on my expense). The car is insured during transportation and it takes a week to get it. The final price for 2002 VW Golf 1.8T is £2,900 (this price includes the shipping to your home and insurance for the trip).Kind Regards, ToniSpecs: 2002 VW Golf 1.8T - 180 bhp, 1,781 cc, petrol, 37,500 miles with full VW service history, 3 door hatch, silver exterior, 25th Anniversary Special Edition no.757 of only 900 made, full sport body styling, climate, ABS, ESP, 6 disc cd changer, adjustible steering wheel, electric windows, electric mirrors, trip computer, alarm & immobiliser, 18" BBS alloy wheels, 6 speed manual gearbox, Lexus rear lights as an extra and a full stainless steel Magnex exhaust from the turbo back, warranty. dubloke 4
if its a genuine sale, why has it been removed from ebay? still sounds a bit dodgy to my like there's some sort of scam involved! its the non-payment of import taxes that bothers me and why he's selling it is to avoid paying them, does that make the new keeper liable? and the other point regarding "a clear title in my hands" also has me concerned!![ Edited Tue Feb 01 2005, 11:23AM ]
antera309 3
If you respond to his email he'll no doubt tell you that "A friend in Nigeria owes me some money and...."419'ers are the scourge of eBay. Nothing but a waste of everyone's time.
