oldmandon 1
when I went to work this morning, I had to scrape the ice off the screen (surprise surprise!!!), when I left work this evening, I went to scrape the ice off the screen again, only to find it was on the inside??!!!! where it wasn't this morning. also for the first time today my car didn't get to 90c. When I got home, got the torch out and had a quick look. top hose was quite warm, not hot, I could keep my hand on the pipe. The bottom hose was luke warm only. Pipes coming out of the heater matrix were hand hot on top, just warm on bottom. Also I noticed that the fluid level was slightly low, which it hasn't been before? Wots the verdict then??!! It's just the weather and I'm lucky to get heat out of my blowers even after a 9 mile drive to work, car just doesn't get hot enough

oldmandon 1
Right, so far the car hasn't lost any water, but it hasn't been used much, think it's done about 100 miles so can't say much about water leaking, however, on each journey, the temperature is only getting to 80 when moving, rises to 90 when stationary, but only after sitting still for 5 mins or so, then as soon as you start to move again, it drops to 80...... any ideas? thermostat sticking open? faulty sender?over to you guys
Threadbare 0
I had some lack of heat issues with my 97 car recently, only reaching 70 or perhaps 80, when it had always run at 90 - 95. A new thermostat worked the miracle cure for 8 quid (and 2 hours work!), it now reaches 90 in 3 miles and stays there rock steady. Thats what I'd be trying. Incidentally I used Glysantine 50 coolant additive to top up which is suitable and mixes with G12. I think its easy to find. Thermostat housing is like one of those impossible plastic puzzles though...
