Mk3Jake 0 Posted December 26, 2010 Report Share Posted December 26, 2010 Heya Guys, I Havent Really Done Any Posting Yet On The Forum, Just Been Browsing And Gaining Ideas And Knowledge From You Guys....At Last I Thought I Would Start My Own Build Thread...I Bought The Car About 6 Months Ago Completely Standard With 99k On The Clocks, 2 Owners And Full VW Service History, This Is My Second Mk3, Im Only 19 And Had A 1.4 Match Before, All Was Great Except The Power, Then I Dreamed Of Getting A VR6 And Low And Behold, One Came Along Two Weeks Later, There Were Only 2 Bad Points About It, The Back Arches Had Bubbled Rust on Them ( Which I Have Read Is Quite Common ) And Secondly Another Patch of Rust Which The Previous Owner Informed Me Was A Stone Chip On The Rear Quarter.Heres How It Started...I Then Changed...The Wheels ( Kept Them From My Old Mk3 )The Front Indicators And FogsCoiloversFront SplitterRemoved The Rear WiperNew Pressed PlatesThe Badges Were Looking A Bit Dated So Decided On A Colour Sheme And Got My Mate To Spray Them Up Also The Engine Cover Is Sprayed The Same Colour.This Is New How The Car Stands Except I Have The Rear Seats Out Ready To Board And Carpet it.I Have Front And Rear Strut Braces In The Post But Due To Christmas Post They Arent Here Yet, They Will Also Be Getting Sprayed.Bad News Some **** Decided To Not Check His Mirrors And Drive Into The Side Of Me Whilst I Was Overtaking Him, Hasnt Caused Too Much Damage But Still Takes The Piss....Any Comments Will Be Great, Thanks Link to post Share on other sites

Mk3Jake 0 Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 2, 2011 Little Update - Gave Her A Little Clean And Took Some Pictures Of The Damage, Nothing Major But Just Annoying Really...Took Some Pictures Of How The Back Stands At The Moment, Waiting For Carpet To Arrive, The Holes Were Going To Be For The Harnesses But Might Be Having Them on Either The Strut Brace Or The Cage Now?? Ideas??I Have Also Ordered Myself Some New Bits...A BMC CDA Induction Kit Some New Leather Reclining Seats With Harness Holes The Strut Brace Still Hasnt Turned Up Link to post Share on other sites

Mk3Jake 0 Posted January 17, 2011 Author Report Share Posted January 17, 2011 Thank You For The Comments, The Badges Arent Quite As Bright A They Look In The Photo, But I Think Adds A Nice Touch To Make The Car Stand Out...Quick Update, Recieved My Seats And Harnesses A Couple Days Ago, Just Waiting On Subframes And Gliders Till I Can Fit Them...I Also Have Nearly Finished The Rear Of The Car, Still Waiting On Strut Braces To Turn Up I Now Have A 4 Point Cage Which I Am Having Sprayed And Installed...Any Comments Would Be Much Appreciated Link to post Share on other sites
