Lukey. 381 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 Yea the FXX is ferraris R&D project, they are basically getting customers to pay for the R&D instead of stumping up themselves. Its clever, as they are testing the cars on the people most likely to buy the finished result and getting them to pay for the privilege.There are (not including micheal schumachers cars) 15 599FXX and 29 FXX, all £1million each.The FXX was first, firstly you could keep the car in your own garage if you wanted and you got 6 ferrari organised events over 2 years. Though keeping it at home didnt mean you could drive it, they arent road legal in the slightest. So you had a nice £1m garage ornament.The 599FXX you did not get to keep at home but you got 15 ferrari organised events over 2 years.These events are fully ferrari organised and run, they ship your car and you to the track, you get a closed track and each car gets its own full team of ferrari mechanics.You cant just sell these, if you do want to sell you have to sell it to ferrari, who will then choose someone else and offer it to them.The R&D on these cars sole purpose is to make the future cars better, the F430 Scuderia and the new 458 Italia are a direct result of these projects.Therein the lesson on what ive learned about the FXX project from way back when the FXX was new, ends :-) Link to post Share on other sites
