Mk3Jake 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 Hey Guys, I Have A Slight Problem With The Vr At The Moment, If Im In Third Gear And Change Down Into 2nd, Revs Sitting Aorund 2k, If I Then Put My Foot Down The Car With Judder/Hold Back For A Second Before Picking Up Around 2500k, This Is The Case For Most Gears.Any Help WIll Be Much Appreciated, ThanksJake Link to post Share on other sites
Dave_ciw 507 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 I have the same issue if you brake and slow right down say speed bumps, and pull away again you get a slight miss but once up and pottering again its fine??? Happens in every gear.I have checked timing all lines up well replaced guide rails and tensioner bolt, replaced coil pack and leads checked all spark plugs they are nearly new and done a full oil change with filter. All advice on this one appreciated, my head is coming off soon for re construction of the engine and having the chains done so I this is why I am not too bothered. Link to post Share on other sites

HAMMER_VR6 0 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 when i first bought my motor i had the same thing, only happened at low revs.Car would judder and occationally back fire when accelerating.Became really annoying.One day whilst washing my car i cleaned the engine bay and got the plug holes wet. Then when i started my car it was worse than ever. Had a look under the bonnet and could see a bright blue spark coming from one of the leads down the plug hole. Could here the engine missing every time it sparked.Changed the leads for magnecor 8.5's and never had a problem since. I think its due to people trying to replace the leads without using the correct tool and damaging the rubber.You could try spraying a very fine mist down each plug hole and on leads and listenand watch for a spark.Dave this doesn't help you if you have already replaced them. Dave_ciw 507 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Share Posted January 4, 2011 I did the leads when I replaced the upper guide rails and the tensioner bolt. This only started happening after I did that work so who is to say the leads aren't faulty.
