bungy 2 Posted January 6, 2011 Report Share Posted January 6, 2011 I thought the mk4 headgasket was different to the mk3. Different layout between 12v and 24v. The mk4 gasket is a triple layer metal one though and nearly £60. Link to post Share on other sites

Lukey. 381 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Share Posted January 8, 2011 yea in us they have the mk4 12v same layout as mk3, ive read this on vortex about them using the mk4 gasket in mk3 12v giving 0.5 increase to 10.5:1 supposedly gives 5bhp, id do it if my engine was coming apart anyway but dont know if id do it just to do it.search vwvortex for "mk4 headgasket on mk3" and any derivatives of this search theres lots of reading about it.
