binliner 0
I need a pair of coilovers for the front... I had FK konis before, which I loved but as they were the only coilovers Id had I have nothing to compare them to... are they loads better than the highsports for instance? The budget for this car is rapidly dwindling and wondered if anyone could recommend a cheaper alternative? Its got koni ta chocks & I think eibach springs at the moment... I suppose I could get -60mm springs instead of -35mm but I'd prefer the flexibility of coilovers
pete8tch 0
how many times did you actually adjust the coilovers you had mate, if a lot then its worth it if not then maybe not.
binliner 0
Im not bothered about adjustable damping especially but ride height took a bit of fiddling to get it just right
MarkGolf 6
The rebound rate isn't as good on the highsports.. Quite spongey tooo, but then I also find the koni's a bit soft for my liking, but they're defo better than the highsports.. (Mates VR has them)They give a nicer ride, but defo aren't as good as the koni's..
six appeal 53
I realise the price thing Justin, but if I were you I'd go for the Konigsports. There is a group buy on Edition38 at the mo. on all FK suspension I think.I have tried loads of different kits on my VR , as you well know, and to get a VR sitting nice and driving well on anything lower than -30mm requires a decent set of coilovers IMO! binliner 0
yeah I can get a front pair on E38 for £300 the rears are H&R coilovers... do u think there'll be any probs mixing different front & rears?
dub_weiser 0
Dont see why not as the front and rears are matched in sets.
six appeal 53
No can't see a problem with that Justin as they are all fully adjustable too!Although knowing how mint the Highline was from every angle, they'll look different from front to back, LOL!
MarkGolf 6
To be honest, depending on the what stage they are, they're better than any FK on the market! I'm looking to get H&R stage 2's but theyre HUGE £££The setup you'll have will be good as the H&R are a better shock, so when you boot it, cos u got 4 wheel drive, everything is tranfered to the rear, so having the H&R's will cut out squating LOADS as opposed to the FK's which I dont think are very strongYou'll be fine basically
binliner 0
lol thats what I wanted to hear
1lowVento 0
I have the FK Konigsports and they are very stiif when cranked all the way to the stiffest setting. The highsports are indeed soft as some others have stated!
