mina 0
Hi AllAfter looking at some of the other cars at our RR day, been thinking I need to sort out the ride height on my car. I've got Koni coilovers, but the problem is I can't go that low as I will keep scraping my front AbT spoiler.Would you reckon it would be worth lowering it about 3/4" as any lower and I won't be able to get onto my drive??? dubloke 4
can't you flatten out your drive mina? lol ! low is good but not with 8" wide, 32 offset wheels and 215 profile tyres it isnt, as i found to my cost on way back from rr day! coming down alcester bypass and hit the dip at the bottom section at 110, took a good chunk off 1/3 of the nearside rear tyre as it hit the arch on upward travel into the arch! thought it sounded bad but gritted teeth and turned the stereo up a bit! rudedubber 0
the lower the better ! what about removing the front spoiler and putting a standard one back on as they will scrape and bend (to a certain degree) without totally knackering up ?
VR6Steve 0
Might look good, but the you will be trying to avoid every fag packet etc on the road for fear of ripping the spoiler off. As for speed hump, don't even get me started. (Yes i do have a few issues with the front spoiler on my Polo GTi) :-)
six appeal 53
To be honest Mina I should imagine you have enough trouble getting that beast to gain traction and handle well at it is! I've found any lower than 30/40mm, actually makes the car drive and handle like a bag of shite on my Koni adjustables, although they do look awesome when lowered 60mm+ . So depends on what you really want from your VR? though with well over 300BHP I think you may have already made that choice, lol
VRmonster 1
im sat on spax rsx coilovers at the mo, set at about 70mm and its riding on the bumpstops, actually ripped a set apart from it, derr. anyhow, should lift it up n cut the bumpstops down, then drop her again. she does bounce all over like, its starting to piss me off. whats my limits, whats the minimum drop i should give her for a comf ride and still look slammed. im on 17s btw. Guest Olly_K
thats a pretty good "sum up" there six appeal. My Koni's are very harsh too. When i 1st put then on the car must've been lowered around 60mm+ - like you say , looked nice. But cos my VR is my daily driver, the ride was harsh and im on my 3rd front splitter (the main problem was say, parking in a car parking space with a pavement in front. ) So im about 40mm now. not exactly the slammed look, but handles better anyhow !
