russj249 2
More than likely the variable resister gone. setting 4 is just a full power contact missing out resister! hence the all or nothing your getting.pop the heater facia plate off carefully, and you'll see the metal slide bit attached to heater knob and thing it slides onto on the dash bit. all will make sense when you take front off lol
makster28 0
ok thanks is it a easy repair if this is the case
russj249 2
I've just edited the post above mate so make sure you read that...Once you've taken facia off, it should become clear what't at fault. It could be that the little copper slider has broken, or somebody has bodged it a little bet before you got it so the heater worked. If you get stuck, I'm sure someone on here will point you in the right direction. Also if you weren't aware, the front facia just pops off. Clip in each corner, and you can get a screwdriver down the sides but be careful not to break the plastic.

richievr 1
will probably be this thingy here :-take off the lower dash trim on the passenger side. you will find the 4 pin plug towards the centre console. un plug it. squeeze the tabs (from memory) and pull it out.. i bet the 3 low speed resistors will be blown.buy a new one and refit..
