;) ;) I would argue this sits better and looks harder than any of those cars above and yet it has no arches !!! Stance isnt about arches or lows or poke or tuck etc etc it's about how a car sits overall inmo but as you rightly say everyone's idea is different :)

i agree mate, even small bodywork mods can help the overall stance i reckon :)

I wouldnt say that was "stanced"' date=' I would just say it was low

:o :O seriously ? I cant see how anyone would look at that and not think it looks hard as nails !! it has presence, it makes you stare that for me is "stance" a better word maybe is presence ? without sounding too zen the car has to sit right within it's shell and that hotrod has it nailed inmo

it does look aggressive and efinately got presence.

but for me its not stance. take the wings off any car and you could run the widest or most skinny ever if you wanted and you wouldnt have to worry about spacing them out cos what have you got ot space them out towards?

yeah but it would still take work to get it sitting right even with no arches mate ? to acheive the overall look still takes effort inmo, I know its out of the ordinary but thats the point I am trying to make, I see so many cars where they spend all their time on getting some really ordinary wheels to sit well and pay to attention to the wheels themself or the rest of the car and inmo that devalues the whole car - it has to be a whole package

I would take time but i dont thik it would take as much if your trying to get it perfect with the arches.

The owner of that doesnt have to worry about what tyres sizes or offset to run incase it catches cos what is it going to catch on? he could run what ever he wants. It took me ages to decide what size adapters to get. constant emails to people, forum searching for what width wheels and ETs people are runnign ands getting picture sot see how it sat in the arches. Ive got it satin looking pretty good but im getting them machine down a few mm cos I want them slightly in, Surely he doesnt have to worry about stuff like that.

firstly not having a pop at you personally or anything this is good I like discussions :)

secondly but thats my point you cant obsess over arches for stance because thats only one part of it - if that hotrod had too small tyres or too big it wouldnt look as good ! and yeah I agree about the adaptors but then again you or I dont have to run them - we can get the wheels welded and re-drilled for the same cost or re-drill the hubs easy enough ? like you I spent ages measuring my arches with the wheels etc and by the time they went on they were perfect ( apart from stupid seized coil on the front :( )

another curve ball - this I think looks awesome and I can guarantee you that a million times more work has gone into getting the wheels sitting perfectly on this than on any other VW !! ;) set up perfectly for every condition, suits the car, makes it drive perfectly etc etc

So it is stanced just for a different purpose

if you redrill the hubs though then you got to space them out cos my wheels would sit 30mm in at the back otherwise.

I still wouldnt say ^^ was stanced. My idea of stance is minimal arch gap whether it be on coiles or sat on the rim using air. but the wheels have be placed perfectly rather than just tucked (unles its air cooled stance, which is tuck, but you can always tell the difference between tuk that was meant and tuk that was just as is)
