badboyV6 4 Posted February 9, 2005 Report Share Posted February 9, 2005 Should always adjust to torque settings- although it can be judged by feel alone but be careful as over tightening will crush the bearing! dubloke 4 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Share Posted February 10, 2005 agood guide is to follow the haynes manual speak! once you've reassembled the hub complete with bearings, tighten to specific torque, then back the nut off till you can just move the thrust washer under it side to side with a screwdriver. replace castle nut and new split pin, hub cap and wheel, and bob's your uncle, fanny's your aunt and murtle's your cousin! job done. done this loads of times and had no probs!
