FINALLY!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Dont know if any one remembers, but my VR got swiped by an arctic back in October, they authorised repairs but just never did anything about it. after hours of phonecalls and fighting with admiral i rang the FSA and the Financial Ombudsman this morning............about an hour later i gets a phonecall back.........

from Admiral, aploigising profuseley and saying they are taking it away to be repaired ASAP! i dont have to pay an excess or anything, and theyre organising a better courtesy car than the repaires give

(told them im not giving them what is basically the R32 of its generation and getting 1 litre corsa in return.) so theyre sorting out a different courtesy car aswell!

as soon as its back from them i just need to get my arse in gear, finish sorting out the head gasket then its back on the road!

Happy days!

i know so am i! although its still may need to go......for somehing slightly bigger.

but i know as soon as i hear that VR roar again im just going to put my foot down and tell the missus its staying! and we will just have to make do with a slightly smaller car than what we need!

well theyre picking it up this aft and the hire car im getting is a.......drum roll....... a 5 door clio! :(

after fighting and fighting with the insurance company, they wont insure me on anything bigger that a class a hire car. (and its in the fine print on my policy)

gutted about the hire car, but at least theyre finally sorting the VR out. but once ive got another years out of admiral im going back to flux. Admiral have been a complete nightmare from the start! and at least with a proper insurance company ill get an equivalent car if i need it!

when my 328 needed to be sorted after somebody ran into the back of me i got a brand new 323 convertible as a courtesy car! only had 400 miles on the clock!

i suppose ive learnt my lesson not to just go with the cheapest insurance company i can find now! you get what you pay for

pics later of a little plastic french hatchback! and pics after the weekend when i find out it doesent go round corners like a VR does!

it will probably go round corners better than a standard VR, pretty nifty things the Clios albe it a bit on the pony side!

good work on finally get the VR sorted with the insurance company though, sounds like a nightmare, i'm with Admiral but touch wood not had to use any form of their services yet so not had any problems with them, they are by far the cheapest insurer i could find though, been using them for about 6 years now!

i hope i never have to use them for anything else! its not woth the hassle, its probably cost me more in phonecalls that the money i saved between sticking with admiral over going to flux!

at least now though, even if they come back as saying they cant prove it was the lorrys fault, its not going to affect my no claims because theyre are paying for everything, and if they make a loss then so be it! thats what they say over the phone anyway!

looking forward to getting a lumpfull of power under my right foot again, instead of having to drive the offroader everywhere! its big and noisy and turns heads, but it is painfully slow!

Well,

i shouldnt really have expected anything less......but theyre not coming for the VR!

the garage says from the pictures it looks driveable, it would be.......except when the lorry hit it, it pulled all the wiring out, so the back lights dont work, theyre trying to tell me that at the time of the estimate, they were working......despite the fact that when they came out to asses the damage, the asessor didnt get out of his car, he sat there, looked at it a bit and drove off! so how do they know that they were working when they had no way of testing them!!

im getting so sick of this now, been struggling for months trying to ferry the family round in the offroader that has only got 2 seats, must have spent an extra £1500 on fuel having to do 2 journeys everywhere, plus getting phone bills for over £100 every month (thats the land line) never mind the fact i buggered up our xmas plans of going up to scotland, and a holiday in january.

i can see why people drive round with no insurance, not just because of the prices are so high, but because of the hassle they cause when you need something sorted!

im really worried that someone might set fire to the car aswell at this rate.........but im also worried that the insurance pay out wont be enough to cover my phone bills just to get it sorted!

Rant over!

im going to ring the garage as soon as they open on monday, if they mess me about again then im going to insist, it goes to a VW bodyshop, because that way they know the repair is going to cost a lot more so they either get it sorted ASAP or i reckon the quote from VW will render it a write off! :(
