Looks like the squeeking wasnt the tensioner but the water pump dying :(

I have looked on that russian site and it says you have to disconnect the engine mounts and exhaust, and move the engine! OMFG!! what a pain in the ass! !amazed has anyone got a how to or the bently manual? could they have a look for me and see if this is correct???

thanks

Chris

main water pump is one of the things that hasn't broke on my car! (i've prob tempted fate now)

i haven't got me bentley here to check what it says, but clearance is very tight in the bay, and i think the water pump is too high up for access.

word of warning....support your downpipe by tieing it up or somthing, as the flexi joins can be damaged if you leave it hanging (happened to mine)

right sorry for a late reply, but i had this exact problem, i bought a new pulley tensioner only to find my water pump was shagged. My mechanic and i managed to get the water pump out by undoing the engine mounts and jacking the engine up (with more care than ever!!) until the water pump was able to come out of its housing, it only needs to go up about 1 or 2 inches, i found the most important thing that might get stretched was the fuel lines...keep an eye on them. exhaust manifold looked okay when the engine was jacked up.

i have pics of my water pump, they arent nice....
