grantnunn 0 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Share Posted March 10, 2011 :-dHi all, im just about to buy my first VR6, wanted on efor ages but been trying to get a steal, anywhos; The seller says" it needs a new gearbox mount" he has the mount and says its the rear one, ive rang around some garages and there saying about 2-3 hours labour...Does this sound about right, am i taking on a donkey with this, im willing to pay the labour just dont want one thing to lead to another...He also says it clunks when it goes into gear when pushing it whcih if the mount ison its way out sounds right to me, Cherrs Folks, Grant Link to post Share on other sites

rsweeney 40 Posted March 10, 2011 Report Share Posted March 10, 2011 ok can get some pics tomorrow but what i did was:- support car and remove front passengers side wheel. ( gearbox mount should be visible )- next i supported both gearbox and engine - now you can see the mount as in the picture - to the right of the driveshaft. ( nicked from tonys guide sorry ! ) now get inside engine bay and remove the 3 bolts circled in picture now thats removed undo the 2 13mm bolts and pull out the old gearbox mount and replace.reverse steps to put back together, if i have missed anything out someone will say hope this is some help Link to post Share on other sites
