grantnunn 0
Hi, ive just bought a VR6 and the oil light is flashing...The guy i bought it off said that he had changed the oil pump(i think) and that when he reconnected the sensors the oil light came on and it was buzzing so he unplugged the senors and earthed it...now its not buzzing but the oil light is flashing...Does anyone know how i can rectify this mess? Thanks
cabrioman 6
it could be the sensors are plugged in wrong way round yellow wire goes the the left and blue goes to the right, or could be a faulty sensor, or no oil pressure .... mate
Lukey. 381
the oil warning lights are pretty important, for how cheap they are you might be best getting a new set, theres 2 and they are a few quid each. I know when i disconnected mine, due to them being 13 years old the contacts were pretty shagged.Whatever the previous owner was doing (the sensors are on top of the filter housing and i dunno if you would even have needed to be disconnecting them) it would be a good place to start with brand new sensors. Then at least you know youve got 2 good sensors and arent chasing a fault that is down to an iffy sensor
