VeedubGeezer 0
Can anyone give me some idea what this may be? I'm looking to start adding my own touches but first I want to sort the niggles. It only seems to happen when I'm about the hit full lock turning right hand down. It will also do it when turning back.ThanksAaron

russj249 2
is it a loud bang or a click? can you feel it though steering wheel?
VeedubGeezer 0
I wouldn't say it was a loud bang. It's more of a twang or boing noise. You can feel it throught the wheel too.

b19drg 0
Top mounts for sure and dont forget to order new bearings at the same time
ian_GTI 0
Check to make sure the the spring isn't broken and is seated properly as a worn topmount normally sounds like a knock / bang. But a twang sound will be spring related
Ian_rogers 0
The twang is the spring turning and reseatin

ian_GTI 0
The spring shouldent move once seated, if yours are moving Ian you have a problem :

VeedubGeezer 0
Well that's fine as it's going in for coilovers on Wednesday
VeedubGeezer 0
Well MOT today and, low and behold, they advised the top mounts have excessive play. They'll be changed when the coilovers go on (unavoidably delayed )
