Also there is a lot of motion in my engine, if i push down theres a good 3-6 inches bounce on it, also my front gear box mount needs changing, came up on mot in sept, ive just bought the car am i running a risk driving it without it being done yet, thanks guys
chief ka kar 0
If your running more torque in the engine the stiff mounts helps stop the strain on other parts like upgraded manifolds. Am sure someone will be able to give you the full in's and out's of having upgraded engine mounts
bungy 2
As your engine mounts deteriorate they will steadily get worse and accelerate wear on other components aswell.
Phat VR6 3
stops weight shifting around in the front when you go round coners. sounds crazy but you can feel the difference
grantnunn 0
So should my engine move so much, theres a lot of movement, ive no non standard engine parts (air filter) so i should just replace with standard right?
stewvr6 0
3 to 6 Inches of movement means it's totally knacked, as the engine is standard just put a normal replacement in it. A solid engine mount will just give you vibration issues
