michael5556 247
I have a blown head gasket and have the "Mayo" and I am fixing it this week, new bolts etc, but I was wondering what's the best way to get rid of this? Is it to take everything out and get it all cleaned etc? Or can I just use some engine flush solution etc?Any solutions welcome. Many thanks.
Bobtrude 0
I dont know if my technique is the best but I drained my system and stuck a gardenhose in one tube while i kept the one on the other side of the engine open. Did this with several different tubes. Then i filled the engine with clean water, started it and drained it after the thermostat had opened and the whole engine had circulated the water.Did this approx 4 times, then filled it with vw coolant... Lukey. 381
if youre on about mayo in the oil after a headgasket then dont do anything, just drain as much as you can then with the HG fixed and good as new fill with new oil and go for a long drive, as you want to get the engine good and hot for a long time to burn off the moisture in the oil ways which will then make its way out of the engine through the crankcase breather
