legvw 0
Did you spray the wheels whilst they were cold?
spadam 7
They shouldnt hsve been to cold as they were in the house before hand. Maybe there were a bit cold. Guns try sonewhere else if they get scratched will just have to touch them up.
bungy 2
At least the tyre place were concious of trashing your wheels rather than just go ahead and trash them.

spadam 7
Wheels are on but i choose the wrong tyre size and they look lost in the arches. Like the colour but wheels looks to small so pissed off at the mo. Let me know your opions good or bad.On the plus side recieved a tax rebate.
bungy 2
What size did you go for?Isn't the yellow dot supposed to go over the valve on a pre-balanced tyre?
spadam 7
Not sure didnt know that map pop back and ask them then.Ended up going 205 40 17 which are far to small for those arches. To late now though so rather annoyed with it all.
bungy 2
I have 225/45/17's on mine and they seem ok. 40% of 205mm is a lot different to 45% of 225mm which is where the difference is. Maybe strike a deal with Tony for his as yours will fit a mk3 better.
craggsy 91
205/40 17s are ideal on a mk3.Id go as Bunny says as mine are 225/40 18s which is right as a step up in size is a step back in profile
spadam 7
Yea may have a word with tony and see what he says.

spadam 7
Well some pics of this weekends antics. What supposed to be a simple job turned into a whole days nightmare. Took about an hour to even get the car in the air as tye car was to low for the ramp so had to drive onto blocks of wood to be able to get the arms under the car. staryed stripping down the passenger side which was easy all off and rear trailing arm bush removed within 40mins.Then onto the drivers side.......Well the first off after a little bit of wiggiling we noticed a leaking brakline which turned up to be snapped. So carried on and removed trailing arm bracket. Next came the bolt through the bush itself this was well and truly siezed and eventually snapped. After a few swear words a quick call to paul we were told to remove the rear arm and take it up to parkys workshop. This didnt quite go to plan as the bolts to the tie arms had been fitted the wrong way round meaning we needed to remove the rear caliper to remove the rear arm. The first caliper carrier bolt was removed with ease and you guessed it the second bolt snapped of in the carrier. Parky worked his magic with his grinder and palsma cutter and managed to remove the nut and bolt on the inside of the trailing arm bush. pic of parkys magic welding.Parky then used more magic in the way of huge flames and welded a nut on the snapped caliper bolt and heated it up so it could be removed. He then removed a carrier bolt of his own car so we could get the car back together that day. Me and jake then set about greasing all our nuts and refitted everything. We then had the fun of reflaring the broken brakeline and fitting a new union. Well car was all back together and back on the road by 5pm. Couldnt of done it without Jake and Parkys help and the use of daves ramp. Best get my carbon vinyl roof sorted this weekend and get some serious cleaning done.

spadam 7
Busy day today doing the carbon vinyl roof. Definetly 100 times harder than the interior parts thats for sure. Few pics of how it looks after 4hrs on it. Still got a few bubbles which i need to heat up and pop with a pin. Still debating wether to rip the vinyl of but think it may damage the paint now so going to try and pop the bubbles as best i can.
