Tony20vturbo 0
Hi GuysI bought a VR6 the other day and it has got an overheating issue, it also has a slight leakFirst problem:I have done some searching on overheating, and it appears it is the thermostat, as the coolant is staying as it should (therefore not just disappearing which suggests a head gasket issue), but it just gets hotter and hotter, to the point where the coolant is starting to smell burntWhere is the best place to get a replacement thermostat? some people say Awesome GTI as the ones from GSF are badly built, leak and fail. If so, is this the right one:http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.php?xProd=5589&xSec=129and does it just plug straight in (also where does it go?)Second problem:There is a slight leak, now I thought it was from one of the hoses but it appears it is coming from a brown sensor which is plugged into the block. If I wiggle it a bit, it starts to drip slowly. Anyone know what this sensor is? I am guessing the rubber seal has perished on it, and will need a new clip alsothanks for the helpTony
bungy 2
Take the thermostat out and heat it up in a pan of water and see if it opens and at what temperature.
