My golf vr6 :) updated thread with new audio and a few nasty suprises :(

Well i bought this off a member on here ian c and its a had a fair few suprises unfortunatly

where do i start

well the mot was as bent as a boomerang the car was apparently motd 3 weeks before i got it

faults :

rear coilovers foooked both dampers were shot to bits and not working

both sills at front below wing holes the size of digestive biscuits

front brake discs warped and below legal thickness

engine mount at back snapped

leaking oil everywhere

exhaust leaking beyond mot testing standard

the list just carrys on

so i rang the guy i bought it off and he claims it was legit to which i laughed at and went yes sure it is and mot station reported to vosa as car is unfit for the road and i carry my kids in the vr6 which scared the crap out of me that someone is willing to put someone elses life at risk

so enough of the bad stuff the good stuff now comes

all welding has now been done i now have a solid shell again

replacement rear coilovers fitted

new front discs and pads fitted

engine mount replaced

and exhaust refitted and sealed up

its now a totaly different car and beautiful to drive

so im a big fan of car audio so last weekend set to work and refitted the vr with a quality ice build no corners cut as quality is better then quantaty

i installed

sony blue tooth headunit with a 5v preout for sound quality signal

2 x alpine type r subs in a custom built box by myself tuned to 30 hz

kenwood components with crossovers all custom fitted so it looks factory

2 x legacy america 4000 watt amps

1 x power cap

there will be more to come on the ice build but for now im happy with it

theres going to be plenty of changes to the exterior and maybe a full respray to make her mint again and possibly paint the tt rims black with a bit of yellow to match the inside along with badges

that was abit like when i bought my vr the rear spring had been broken since 07 and the bastard let me drive off in it ! well at least its all sorted !
