Wilsonp83 1
Ok everyone, as part of my tlc/service (this car is really trying my patience now) trying to change pads and discs. The guide on here was very useful up until the point to pull the disc off. After removing the disc retaining screw I have been unable to force the disc off. The only thing that remains is to take off the self locking 12 point nut which I'm presuming is for holding the hub on with. This is the first time I have come across this with changing discs and pads.Any suggestions? If it works, below should be 2 screenshots from ElsaWin. Lower image item 2 is the 12 point. Many thanks guys
bungy 2
Where in Hants are you? And you do not need to remove the 12 point nut....
Wilsonp83 1
I'm near Hook. How does it come off then? It seems seized, I've soaked it in allsorts including WD40 and tried some adjustment with a hammer as I'm not keeping the disc.I'm leaving it until next weekend so I'll post a picture then unless anyone has any brainwaves.Cheers Bungy though
HAMMER_VR6 0
just smack the disc from all angles with a big hammer. Or lever with a pry bar. It will just be corroded on the hub. Put copper grease around the hub before fitting new disc to stop it happening again
bungy 2
^^^as above really, should come off easy enough^^^Have you removed the pads when you are trying to move the disc?

v_dubberoon 0
i had a similar problem getting the wheel off an old vento, soaked it with WD40 for ages, wacked it, hit it, even got to the stage of just letting the car drop onto the un bolted wheel but to no avail.........took nearly 2 days to smack the bugger off due to it being sat in a damp mill for a year.......good luck tho. like ppl say, persuade it with a hammer. Using a block of wood seemed to help direct the force in useful angles
