VR6Pete 1,455
have you put it on VAG-COM yet? my other feeling is that it might be the immobiliser, sometimes they go faulty, causing the symptoms you are seeing.
hawwy 0
what's vag com?, also i got toad alarm, i disconnected it from battry it still didn't start
Gazbarber1982 3
Your alarm if it's wired in properly wouldn't allow your car to start at all if you disconnect it from the battery. But it definitely sounds like it's the factory immobiliser. Tried your spare key??
hawwy 0
but the car was driving b4, how do i sort it..also hats spare key going to do?my fuel was on reserve and ive been told it could be fuel pump???
Gazbarber1982 3
You really need to get it plugged into vagcom just to check for errors. Vagcom is diagnostics software for VAG cars. Quite a few of us on here have it so there could well be someone close to you that can plug it in for you. Does the same thing as VW's own diagnostics. Theres a page on here that lists members with vagcom and the area they live in.
hawwy 0
right, i got it fired, but after a while when i pressed foot down it only revved till 3-4k, when i turned it off it didnt turn on samee problem again.i think its burnin fuel relay out, u can feel them clicking in but it dont stay on.also few days ago it gave out smoke from dashboard and smelt of burning plastic , think it was from fuseboxhow do you bridge fuel pump relay if that works i could give it a go
Gazbarber1982 3
I'll post pics of the bentley manual up tomorrow but you bridge battery positive to fuel pump relay terminal 87 using a fused jumper wire. Fuel pump relay is located bottom right on fusebox. NOTE: TERMINAL NUMBERS SHOULD BE MARKED ON THE FUSE/RELAY PANEL AND ON THE RELAY BOTTOMSorry but this is the best I can do on my iPad, missus

Ian_rogers 0
That's the one, wouldn't get one from eBay tho, go to Gsf or tsp, it's cheap enough a part to try even if it doesn't work
